TEACHER OF SCIENCE (Physics focus)

This exciting position is an opportunity for an outstanding educator to join Frensham in 2018 in an environment where subject knowledge and passion are extremely highly valued.

Led by our Head of Science, the faculty works collaboratively to deliver quality teaching and learning experiences that develop students as problem solvers and flexible thinkers.

Frensham offers three HSC Science subjects: Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Many of the students choosing these subjects have aspirations to pursue a Science-based career. Physics is a highly regarded subject choice for Frensham students.

The Science Faculty and individual classrooms are well-resourced. Our Science and IT Centre comprises state-of-the-art Science Laboratories, a Research Laboratory and a collaborative learning space [redesigned for refurbishment in 2018]. The Faculty is also supported by a full-time laboratory assistant who utilises a well-resourced preparation area allowing for authentic science learning tasks to be central to the curriculum.

Although we are looking for an accomplished teacher of Stage 6 Physics plus Junior Science, the position could also suit an outstanding recent graduate who would like the opportunity to work alongside experienced staff. A willingness to incorporate all aspects of STE(A)M into our programmes is essential.

Frensham - Teacher of Design & Technology

TEACHER OF DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY
with STE(A)M Focus


This exciting position is an opportunity for an outstanding educator to join Frensham in 2018 in an environment where harnessing ever-evolving and emergent technologies is extremely highly valued.

Led by our Director of Research and Innovation, Head of Visual Arts and Design and Senior Teacher in Innovation, Design and Technology, staff work collaboratively to deliver quality teaching and learning experiences that develop students as creative and flexible thinkers.

Technology [Years 7 & 8] is mandatory, and from 2018 a new Stage 5 Technology elective will be introduced. This new course, coupled with a high numbers of students selecting Design and Technology in the senior years, has led to the creation of this full-time role.

The Faculty and individual classrooms are well resourced. Our Design and Fabrication studios, located on the Sturt campus, accommodate our Design and Technology classes and feature high end computing, CNC routing, laser cutting and 3D printing. These facilities are supported by a full-time technical assistant. The Science and IT Centre, located adjacent to Sturt on the Frensham campus, supports Technology through blended science and technology programmes in Stage 5.

We are looking for an accomplished teacher of Stage 6 Design and Technology, with experience in digital design and fabrication. A willingness to incorporate all aspects of STE(A)M, including the creative arts, into the technology programme is essential. WWS - Facilities Team Member

Winifred West Schools (WWS) comprises three campuses: Gib Gate, Frensham and Sturt, maintained at the highest level by a committed core team, plus specialists and consultant services. The Facilities Manager and Facilities Coordinator oversee the Maintenance and Facilities team and report to the Business Manager and Head of WWS.

The successful applicant will have proven ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team and will have a flexible, practical approach to ensuring that tasks are completed safely, efficiently and with attention to detail.

Particular skills or experience in any of the following areas will be an advantage:
  • Building maintenance and/or related trades: electrical, plumbing, repairs, minor construction or building repairs
  • Use and maintenance of machinery for care of extensive grounds, gardens, technical equipment and Sports fields
  • Management of farm animals
Willingness to support preparations for daily and major School activities and events, including set-up on and off campus, is essential.

Frensham’s Languages Faculty work collaboratively to promote Languages as a challenging, exciting course of study.

French [Year 7] and Latin [Year 8] are mandatory, and high numbers of students select Elective French and Elective Latin for Years 9 and 10. Frensham - House Assistant

HOUSE ASSISTANT – Graduate

This is a full-time residential position which would suit a recent graduate with aspirations to teach or a graduate teacher recently qualified and seeking experience of working alongside outstanding colleagues. This 12-month position is designed to provide access for the House Assistant to the full professional learning programme for classroom teachers and offer insight into the overall management and support of students in a highly developed residential setting where girls ‘love to board’ and where academic care and leadership development are core.
