ALUMNI / FELLOWSHIP / OLD GIRLS
Frensham
Fellowship was established in 1918 to act as a link between
past and present girls and to help to carry on the school
ideals of Love and Service into the outside world. It was
recognised that beyond the school it was more difficult
to be idealistic. The name aptly implies the scope of members'
work, to keep the ideals of the school in the minds of girls
who have left, to encourage them to take up some definite
work, to help any good cause that needs assistance, and
to encourage members to keep up with current thought.
Membership
of the Fellowship is open to past students, and staff, with
honorary membership for current staff and school prefects.
Keeping
in mind that their main object is work, people join not
for what they can get, but for what they can give. The Fellowship
has adopted as its watchwords "So little
done, so much to do" and behind this
stands the school motto "In love, serve one another".
Each person who joins undertakes to put his or her time
and abilities to some good use.
Fellowship
groups are scattered throughout the world, forming a support
network for members when living or travelling overseas. Members
are encouraged to visit the school - a meeting room has recently
been refurbished for their exclusive use. Reunions are held
for Year groups and geographical groups, such as the pictured
group of very early students at Government House in Sydney.
Other activities include social events like bridge days, golf
days and picnics, such as for the new girls and their parents
to meet.
