FRENSHAM'S CURRICULUM & STUDIES

At Frensham students receive personalised attention within small-sized classes and limited School enrolment of approximately 320 students.

Subject Selection

When making elective subject choices in the Junior years students are presented with details of the direction and focus of the courses on offer. In addition, subject teachers present information on their course to highlight the challenges and opportunities their subject offers. Parents are contacted by the Director of Studies to discuss any issues arising from course selection and are asked to approve all final choices.

When selecting courses or pathways for study in senior years students are presented with programme overviews for each subject and students meet individually with the Director of Studies and Year Coordinator. These meetings are designed to assist students in the process of subject selection and incorporate discussion of academic skills, career interests and the relevant challenge or support necessary for each individual.

For Year 10 students, a Goal Setting programme complements the preparation for Senior Studies. Interviews with the student, parents and senior staff aim to look closely at the student’s current skills and application and to set goals for her senior study.
