Outdoor Challenge

Step outside to think outside

Taking students out into nature forms an important part of Frensham’s academic curriculum. Away from the classroom, outdoor education is designed to open up the natural world to students. Through adventure and exploration, they learn to rise to physical and emotional challenges, and discover leadership skills – all while immersed in the beauty of Australia’s wilderness.

From historical and geographical knowledge to conservation, students develop a deep connection with the natural world, their relationship with it and responsibility to protect it.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award

Beginning in Year 9, students take part in cultural, practical and adventurous activities. They lead expeditions, learn the value of community service, gain practical skills and take part in physical recreation. Each activity sets a different challenge and encourages ingenuity, confidence and teamwork.
