FACILITIES TEAM MEMBER

Winifred West Schools (WWS) comprises three campuses: Gib Gate, Frensham and Sturt, maintained at the highest level by a committed core team, plus specialists and consultant services. The Facilities Manager and Facilities Coordinator oversee the Maintenance and Facilities team and report to the Business Manager and Head of WWS.

The successful applicant will have proven ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team and will have a flexible, practical approach to ensuring that tasks are completed safely, efficiently and with attention to detail.

Particular skills or experience in any of the following areas will be an advantage:
  • Building maintenance and/or related trades: electrical, plumbing, repairs, minor construction or building repairs
  • Use and maintenance of machinery for care of extensive grounds, gardens, technical equipment and Sports fields
  • Management of farm animals
Willingness to support preparations for daily and major School activities and events, including set-up on and off campus, is essential.

EXECUTIVE POSITION (HEAD OF CAMPUS LEVEL)

DIRECTOR OF BOARDING

The Director of Boarding is an Executive Position within Winifred West Schools, with direct responsibility to the Head of Frensham for the day-to-day running of the Houses that accommodate Frensham’s 250 Full and Weekly Boarders and 100 Day Boarders. 

Particular responsibilities include:
Working with the Deputy Head of Frensham to share responsibility for the overall care, development and inspiration of students in the boarding environment, including:
  • programming of activities and individual student management;
  • risk-management and oversight of all boarding-related programmes;
  • management of facilities related to boarding;
  • scheduling, management and care of the staff team responsible for Boarding;
  • contribution to the Executive staff team of the School, in the broadest context.
The Director of Boarding is a residential position requiring a willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.

The accommodation on campus is a large family-sized, modern House with separate entry and privacy, connected to the Senior House.

This position is designed to meet the needs of an educator and scholar of Music, with proven ability to inspire and lead students in the full range of learning experiences, across all year groups:

SCIENCE – Leadership

Members of the Science Faculty are also driving our STEM/STE(A)Mm programme development, working cross-faculty to implement innovative projects. HEAD of HOUSE – Teacher

This is a residential position which could combine teaching and House responsibility and is positioned at Leadership Level 1.

The position arises owing to the expansion of facilities in boarding from 2017 and the anticipated increase in boarder enrolments as a result of the expansion.

HOUSE ASSISTANT – Graduate

This is a full-time residential position which would suit a recent graduate with aspirations to teach or a graduate teacher recently qualified and seeking experience of working alongside outstanding colleagues. This 12-month position is designed to provide access for the House Assistant to the full professional learning programme for classroom teachers and offer insight into the overall management and support of students in a highly developed residential setting where girls ‘love to board’ and where academic care and leadership development are core.
