FRENSHAM - PDHPE / Sport

An exciting opportunity exists for an outstanding educator in the field of PDHPE / Sport to commence at the beginning of Term 3, 2012.

This position arises owing to the Maternity Leave of the Head of Faculty of PDHPE / Sport.

The reason that the advertisement mentions the possibility of a teacher or Head of Faculty role appointment is that we have alternatives for managing the Faculty during the Leave period.

Additionally, owing to the significance of IGSSA Sport at Frensham, we are prepared to appoint an additional full-time PDHPE/Sport teacher keen to join the senior leadership team.

The successful applicant will be a passionate classroom teacher and a skilled, qualified coach, with an exemplary knowledge and skills and an interest in developing dynamic, inclusive programmes for senior and junior students.

Frensham participates in the Sydney-based IGSSA Sport competition and teams play ‘at home’ each term for Softball, Tennis, Soccer, Basketball, Netball, Hockey and Touch Football, travelling to Sydney for Finals each term and for Athletics, Swimming and Gymnastics Carnivals. Frensham also hosts the annual IGSSA Cross Country Carnival. Facilities include expansive Games Fields, tennis courts, an indoor gymnasium court with basketball / netball court, a squash court, weights room and water-based turf hockey field. All plans are also completed for ‘The Centenary Pool’ aligned with Frensham’s Centenary in 2013. Currently around 90% of the girls play representative team sport every term.

An independent secondary boarding and day school for just over 300 girls, located in a magnificent setting in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Frensham is less than 75 minutes from the heart of Sydney.
