The Frensham Mathematics Faculty works collaboratively to promote Mathematics to students as a challenging, exciting field of learning. The department is very well resourced and all Mathematics classrooms are about to be renovated (for completion by the start of Term 1, 2019) to reflect contemporary practice needs. In summary:

LIBRARIAN (TEACHER)

Frensham Library is seeking an energetic and dynamic Teacher Librarian.  

Frensham’s magnificent Esther Tuckey Library is central to the life of the School. Open from 8.25am through to 9.00pm from Monday to Friday and at varying periods of time over the weekend, the Library serves as both a study centre and an information hub, to meet the needs of a large boarding community of students.

As the expert within a Library team, the Teacher Librarian is responsible for the setting of expectations for day-to-day operation of the Library, efficient operation of the library management system (Infiniti), and ordering and processing of new material.

We are seeking to appoint a colleague who enjoys working with young people, holds relevant qualifications in librarianship and is interested in current trends in libraries. Commitment to excellence in girls’ education is essential.

The successful applicant needs to have well developed digital, time management and interpersonal communication skills and be used to working efficiently both individually and as a team member.

HEAD OF HOUSE

This is a residential position which could combine teaching and House responsibility and is positioned at Leadership Level 1.

The position arises owing to the retirement of experienced colleagues who have created a high-functioning, welcoming House for our most experienced boarders – our senior students.

With over 250 boarders in a school population of 350 students, Frensham is a boarding school, not a school with boarders, preparing students to be skilled and willing to make a positive difference in the world, beyond School. GIB GATE PRESCHOOL (Casual)

This is a rare opportunity for a qualified Early Childhood Educator (with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care) to be part of Gib Gate’s Preschool programme on a casual basis.

Gib Gate is the co-educational Preschool to Year 6 Primary School of Frensham Schools: Gib Gate, Frensham, Sturt. Single stream and co-educational, Gib Gate has a highly experienced team of staff and is set on a magnificent campus of 10 hectares, with outstanding specialist facilities for core and extra-curricular teaching and learning.

Gib Gate Preschool is a purpose-built facility positioned within the K-6 School Campus. The Preschool is a self-contained, light-filled, open plan facility. It encompasses three connected teaching spaces, a Visual Arts space, an office area, kitchen, bathrooms and laundry. The Preschool garden has been designed to encourage imaginative and constructive play.

Gib Gate Preschool is accredited with the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority and programming is underpinned by the Early Years Learning Framework and Reggio Emilia Philosophy of early childhood education. Pre-Kindergarten children participate in specialist Library, Music and Physical Education Lessons. They also participate in the annual P-2 Junior Musical and other major School events.
