Fellowship AGM & Dinner and 5 Year Reunion

Frensham Fellowship Annual General Meeting and Dinner

Frensham Fellowship’s Annual General Meeting and Dinner (AGM) was held on Wednesday 8 June at the Royal Sydney Golf Club (RSGC).

It was great evening for Fellowship, with members hearing reports from President of Frensham Fellowship, Mrs Pook Austin (Alison Cameron, 1968), Treasurer of Frensham Fellowship, Ms Annabel White (1983) and Head of Frensham and Head of Frensham Schools, Ms Sarah McGarry. All remarked on the exciting future for Fellowship and Frensham Schools following the prolonged impact of COVID-19 on normal activities. Special tributes and thanks were also paid to departing Fellowship Committee Members, Annette O’Connell (Moxon, 1983) and Ingrid Ridge (Merrett,1984) who served the Committee with distinction for 10 and 8 years, respectively.

Following canapes and dinner, Mrs Skye Manson (Shannon, 2001) delighted those in attendance with her Guest Speaker Address. Skye spoke about her time at Frensham and how it has helped shape her career in journalism, as presenter and reporter on ABC radio’s Country Hour for 11 years, and now operator of her own podcasting network, Manson, which produces lifestyle podcasts telling stories from rural Australia.

A total of 71 Fellowship Members were in attendance, with representatives from the Class of 1947 to Class of 2015, Frensham Staff past and present. Mention must be made of Mrs Jay Griffin (Flora Robinson,1947) who attended at 92 years of age.

Special thanks to RSGC Member Julia Laverty (Forbes,1980) for sponsoring the AGM and Dinner at the Club.

The Minutes from the AGM and Skye’s Guest Speaker Address will be published in Frensham Chronicle 2022.
