Fellowship Golf Day – Monday 18 November

This year’s Fellowship Golf Day was a perfect day for golf, with sunny blue skies and a light breeze. Forty two players – appropriately attired in purple and green – teed off for either 18 or nine holes at Elanora Country Club.

2019 Golf Day winners were:

  • Individual winner – Georgina Ward (Willsallen, 1961), score of +2;
  • Runner up – Sue Ross (Suzanne Morgan, 1962), score of -1;
  • Team Winners - Dimity Cowley (Brownhill, 1983), Charlotte Gillespie (Maynard, 1980), Jo Hawker (Perrottet, 1980) and Pru Pearce (Brownhill, 1980) with a score of +9, also taking out Best Dressed;
  • Nine hole winner – Jackie Dalton (Frensham staff);
  • Nearest the Pin – Kerrie Evans (1963) and Sue Ann White (Cox, 1974);
  • Straightest Drive – Tania Carrigan (Collis, 1974), Barbara Herron (Apps, 1958), Loo Manning (Adamson, 1960) and Vicki Mesley (Travers, 1966).

In accepting her winner’s prize at lunch after the round, Georgina noted how much she valued the opportunity to play with fellow Old Girls, and gave her thanks to the organisers.

Also over lunch, President of Fellowship, Annette O’Connell (Moxon, 1983), gave the participants an overview of what was happening at Frensham.

A huge thanks to Jo Millyard (Furze, 1965) and Felicity Cavill (Travers, 1975) for their time and organisation in putting together another successful event. Sadly, both announced their retirement as hosts and organisers of the Golf Day and asked for ‘new and maybe younger blood’ to take the reins for future events.
