Community: WWS Foundation’s Bush Dance... New Student Orientation 2020

In the final stages of major School events that harness the energy, expertise, commitment and good humour of our entire community it is the perfect time to pause and reflect on our collective good fortune: to belong to be needed – and to have the opportunity to contribute to the success and wellbeing of others – as hosts, supporters and volunteers. The old Irish proverb that says, We live in the shelter of each other’ and the African philosophy of happiness expressed in the adage, I am, because we are’, are helpful reminders of our personal responsibility to reach out and connect and to step forward to play our part. The practice afforded to students over these next few days is intentional and far-reaching and we are grateful to parents and to our teachers for setting such a powerful, visible example of service, for students.

Thank you in advance to all who are supporting our hosting of new families and new students at Orientation 2020 and to all who are involved in some way in the 2019 Bush Dance.

Please see ‘The Big Top 2019’ tomorrow @  Frensham1913 Instagram – installed this week on the Games Field

For the 74 students enrolled to start high school or join us in Years 7-10 from 2020, we are pleased to be welcoming almost 50 families new to Frensham Schools. We are grateful in advance to the staff team responsible for planning and hosting Orientation and to the current boarders who will ‘move beds’ to facilitate our hosting of new students within Hartfield and Kennedy Houses.

Staffing Update
I am pleased to advise that Mrs Darrya Foster RN has this week accepted the position of Head of the Health Centre (Acting), replacing Mrs Virginia Kidd RN whom we thank for her management of the Health Centre from the start of the year, following Cathie Weaver’s retirement at the end of 2018.
